Lewis Barnes

Lewis "Flip" Barnes (born May 21, 1955 ) is an American jazz trumpeter .

Lewis Barnes comes from Virginia , graduated from Howard University in Washington, DC and worked from the 1990s in the formations and band projects of William Parker , as his regular quartet, the Little Huey Creative Music Orchestra and Raining on the Moon , also played he in the William Hooker Sextet, with Jean-Paul Bourelly , Paul Haines , The Holmes Brothers, Norah Jones , Darius Jones , Jemeel Moondoc ( Spirit House 2000), Steve Swell and David S. Ware . In the field of jazz he was involved in 37 recording sessions between 1986 and 2008. Barnes is influenced by Miles Davis , Kenny Dorham , Booker Little and Thad Jones . His son Alex Celcis is a rapper .
