Li Hui-jun gained her first international experience at the 2017 Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar , where she finished sixth with 54.39 m. Then she retired at the Summer Universiade in Taipei with 47.82 m in qualification. In 2018 she won the gold medal at the Junior Asian Championships in Gifu with 55.36 m ahead of the Japanese Takemoto Sae and qualified for the U20 World Championships in Tampere , where she finished eighth with 51.49 m in the final. At the end of August, she took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and finished fifth with 54.83 m. The following year she was eighth at the Asian Championships in Doha with a width of 52.93 m.
In 2018, Li became the Taiwanese javelin throwing champion. She is an exercise science student at National Taiwan Sport University .
