Love Yourself 結 'Answer' is the third Korean compilation album by the South Korean boy group BTS , which was released on August 24, 2018 via Big Hit Entertainment . The album contains 25 songs (digital version 26), seven of which are new songs. Idol was the only single to appear. Four different physical versions (S, E, L, F) have been released. Answer is the follow-up to their studio album Love Yourself 轉 'Tear' and the last album in the Love Yourself trilogy. It was the second best-selling album worldwide in 2018 with around 2.7 million units sold.
Background and advertising
Answer was announced on July 16, 2018. It is the last piece of the 起 承 転 結 ( Kishōtenketsu ) story and combines Love Yourself 起 Wonder, Love Yourself 承 'Her' and Love Yourself 轉 'Tear' .
On August 10th, group member Jin's comeback trailer Epiphany came out.
On August 13th the concept photos of the "S" and "E" versions and three days later the "L" and "F" versions were posted on Twitter. On May 20th, BigHit released the track listing.
Two hours before the album was released, BigHit announced that a version of IDOL with US rapper Nicki Minaj would be released digitally.
The Love Yourself Tour began in Seoul on August 25th . A day later, BTS gave a press conference where they presented Answer .
On August 29th there was a live stream on the V App under the motto "Behind The anSwer", in which the members celebrated their new album.
Music videos
On August 22nd, BigHit published the teaser for IDOL . The music video appeared at the same time as the album. It was viewed over 45 million times on YouTube within 24 hours , setting Taylor Swift's record .

In six days, the album received over 1.51 million pre- orders , breaking Love Yourself 轉 'Tear' s record for the most pre-orders in the Korean music industry. With 2,033,475 copies sold, Love Yourself 結 'Answer' is the best-selling album in the history of the Gaon Charts since its inception in 2010.

Answer received positive feedback from music critics. The SCMP gave the album four out of five stars, praising the traditional sound of Idol, the group's rappers, and conveying the message of self-love to the youth.
Tamar Herman wrote for Billboard : "Love Yourself: Answer reaffirms BTS 'identity as a group of artists, or" idols "or whatever, blending powerful lyricism with diverse musicality. As a masterful culmination of years of work and great meaning Answer undeniably a masterpiece from BTS that few other artists or boy bands hope to match.
