Liang Shuquan

Liang Shuquan (born 1912 in Zhongshan , Guangdong Province , China, † December 9, 2006 in Beijing ) was a Chinese chemist .

He graduated from Yanjing University with a degree in chemistry in 1933. In 1937 he received his doctorate in Munich with a precise determination of the atomic mass of iron , which was adopted by the International Commission for the Determination of Atomic Weights. He had been a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences since 1955 . In 1995 he was awarded the Tan Kah Kee Science Prize.

He particularly distinguished himself through his analyzes of the rare earth elements in the iron ore of Bayan Kuang (Bayan Obo) in Baotou .
