Licia Piller Hoffer comes from a sports-loving family, among others her sister Elda Piller Hoffer was a successful archery biathlete. At her first World Championships in 2001 in Kubalonka , she came for Edmea Ollier in the relay and won a first World Cup medal with silver alongside Stefania D'Andrea and Nadia Peyrot behind the Russian relay. In the same line-up, she also won the relay silver medal behind Russia in Pokljuka at the 2001 European Championships . In 2002 she won the silver medal behind Russia at the World Championships in Pokljuka with D'Andrea and Peyrot and was also fifth in the mass start race at the top 15 races in the same place. In 2004 in Pokljuka, Piller Hoffer was sixth in the sprint and mass start and eighth in the pursuit race and again won the relay silver medal at the World Cup with Peyrot and her sister behind the mighty Russians. Also in 2005 she won relay silver behind Russia for the fourth time in the cast of the previous year in Forni Avoltri . In the overall World Cup, Piller Hoffer was third behind Peyrot and D'Andrea in 2002 ; in the overall ranking of the individual World Cup, she was only beaten by Peyrot. In 2006 , the Italian came third behind Jekaterina Lugowkina and Natalija Jemelina in the overall ranking of the Sprint World Cup. Together with her siblings and other relatives, she owns a managed excursion hut near the Piave .
