Lidia Joanna Geringer de Oedenberg , b. Ulatowska (born September 12, 1957 in Wroclaw ) is a Polish politician and has been a member of the European Parliament since 2004 .

Life

She studied at the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business School in Warsaw , as well as in Spain and Holland . She worked as a journalist for the Polish State Television , including the program director of the Wroclaw broadcaster. 1995–2005 she was general director of the international music festival Wratislavia Cantans in Wroclaw .

In 2004, 2009 and 2014 she was elected to the European Parliament from the list of the Federation of the Democratic Left (Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej, SLD) . On June 29, 2014, she left the League of Democratic Left and has been non-party ever since.

On July 15, 2009, she was elected Quaestor of the European Parliament in the 1st ballot .

Activities as an EU parliamentarian

Geringer de Oedenberg is a member of the Presidium of the European Parliament , the Legal Affairs Committee , the Petitions Committee and the delegation for relations with the countries of South Asia . She is a deputy in the Committee on Budgets , in the delegation in the EU-Croatia Joint Parliamentary Committee , the delegation in the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly and the delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean .
