The Liechtenstein Physical Society is the physical society in the Principality of Liechtenstein with its seat in Vaduz . It consists of the physical section of the Natural Science Forum e. V. (NWF). This organization was founded in 1993 in Vaduz at the suggestion of Cyril Deicha, and became a member of the European Physical Society (EPS) in 2007.

activities

The purpose of the society or the association is to promote interest in the natural sciences, in particular in physics and related activities. Historical scientific equipment is collected, physics Olympics and exhibitions are organized, and scientific projects are carried out, for example on the behavior of bees in space on board the Columbia . The association is an interface between European research and local politics, for example at the NWF's 2008–2010 energy colloquia. In 2017 the presentation of the first Foucault pendulum in the state of Lichtenstein took place.

Due to the small size of the country, there is a close network of all areas of the natural sciences. The Natural Science Forum corresponds to a miniature academy of sciences.
