Jakub Čutta (born December 29, 1981 in Jablonec nad Nisou , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with VIK Västerås HK from HockeyAllsvenskan .
Career
The 1.91 m tall defender played for the Swift Current Broncos in the Canadian top junior division Western Hockey League when he was selected in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft as 61st in the second round by the Washington Capitals .
In the 2000/01 season , the left-shot was for the first time for the Capitals in the NHL on the ice, but Čutta could never prevail in the capital and spent most of the time with the Portland Pirates , Washington's farm team in the American Hockey League . After a season with the Hershey Bears , the new cooperation partner of the Capitals, the Czech moved back to his home country, where he played for Bílí Tygři Liberec in the Extraliga . In 2007 the defender finally signed a contract with the Russian first division club Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , which he left during the season in the direction of HK Tractor Chelyabinsk . After taking part in the Washington Capitals training camp before the start of the 2008/09 season, he moved back to his home country for HC Energie Karlovy Vary in October 2008 . With his new team he won the Czech championship in 2009 . In May 2011 the Czech was signed by BK Mladá Boleslav .
Between 2012 and February 2014, Čutta was again under contract with the White Tigers in Liberec before he moved to the Finnish Liiga to Saimaan Pallo Lappeenranta . In the following season he was active for HC Pardubice , before he moved again to other European countries in 2015 and played for VIK Västerås HK in HockeyAllsvenskan .
International
Jakub Čutta competed in the 2001 World Junior Championship with the Czech U20 national team . The defender scored an assist in seven games .
