Lieselotte Remané

Lieselotte Remané (* 1914 - June 30, 2002 ) was a German journalist and translator. She was a member of the editorial team of the Berliner Zeitung until the mid-1950s when she was dismissed for political reasons .

In addition to individual books from English, Lieselotte Remané mainly translated Russian literature and Russian children's books. Such as B. Never Smart in Sun City. She wrote the first German translation of Prokofiev's musical fairy tale Peter and the Wolf . Lieselotte Remané was involved in the revision of the Eugen Onegin translation by Theodor Commichau from 1916, which was published by the Berlin Aufbau-Verlag . She was married to Martin Remané, with whom she worked closely on her translations, especially on poetry and lyric texts.
