Rönn attended nursing school in Düsseldorf from 1964 to 1967 , and from 1967 to 1968 she did an internship in a children's home. Then she studied social pedagogy until 1970 without a degree. After the murder of a colleague by a man who imagined that he was infected with HIV by a prostitute and who shot her indiscriminately, she co-founded the Solidarity Hamburger Huren (SHH) in April 1987 to fight against discrimination against prostitutes and address their environment. Rönn organizes congresses as part of the SHH and gives lectures on the topic.
