Lilium huidongense is a plant species from the genus of lilies ( Lilium ) in the Sinomartagon section and is related to Lilium henrici .

description

Lilium huidongense reaches heights of growth of up to 50 centimeters, the stem is smooth, roots are formed at the base above the bulb. The distributed standing leaves are ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, five- to seven-veined and 7 to 8 inches long and 1.6 to 2.4 inches wide. Its edge is finely papilose , in the leaf axils there is a tuft of white, curly hairs.

In June up to four nodding and bell-shaped flowers standing in a cluster are formed. Linear lanceolate bracts are present at the base of the 4 to 6 cm long peduncle, 6.5 to 7 cm long and 9 to 12 millimeters wide. The bracts are speckled light red and purple, at the tip finely papilose, oblong-round to oblong-round-egg-shaped, about 4 inches long and 1.3 inches wide. The nectaries are not papillary .

The stamens, which are bent towards each other, are almost 2 centimeters long and hairless, the linear anthers around 7 millimeters long. The cylindrical ovary is about 8 millimeters long and 2 millimeters wide, the stylus 2.5 centimeters long. The three-lobed scar is swollen.

So far, the species has only been found once in the southwest of the Chinese province of Sichuan in Huidong County , Liangshan Autonomous District at altitudes of 3200 meters. The type specimen was collected by SK Wu in June 1959 and first described by Jie Mei Xu in 1985 .
