Lilo Tadday

Lilo Tadday (born July 26, 1949 in Karlsruhe ) is a German gallery owner and photographer on Heligoland.

Life

Lilo Tadday attended the trade school and completed his photography training in Karlsruhe. She inherited her love for Heligoland from her father. After many visits, she stayed on the island in 1975, where she married a Heligoland who died in 1994. The marriage has two children. Since 1998 she has been running a 14 m² photo gallery in the lobster stalls in Helgoland's inland port. She is often with the gray seals on the dune (island) in front of the main island . At the invitation of the Alfred Wegener Institute , she went to the Antarctic in 2001 and 2006 as Artist in Residence on the research ship Polarstern . In the artist group Paradox she is committed to the German-Chinese cultural exchange. On behalf of the German Leper Aid Organization , she visited villages in Uganda . For the German Development Service she got photo documentation of projects in the Philippines . The Society for Technical Cooperation sent them to the fishermen in Sri Lanka . In 2005 she traveled to Ladakh to see Buddhist monks . Her pictures of the Heligoland gray seals were shown in Hamburg and Stralsund. On September 27, 2014, she had the rare opportunity to travel from Heligoland to the mainland in a hot air balloon .
