Limonium elaphonisicum is a species of the genus of the beach Lilac ( Limonium ) in the family of plumbaginaceae (Plumbaginaceae).

features

Limonium elaphonisicum is a perennial subshrub that reaches heights of 25 to 30 centimeters. The leaves measure 15 to 30 × 3 to 5 millimeters. They are spatulate, pointed and one-nerved.

The inner bracts are 8 to 9 millimeters in size. There are no side branches on the first-order panicle branches. There are 2 (to 3) spikelets on each ear. These are parallel to the axis of the ears and have one flower per centimeter in length . The chalice is 8 to 8.5 millimeters in size.

The flowering time is in July.

Occurrence

Limonium elaphonisicum is endemic to Crete in the prefecture of Chania . It was found on the island of Elafonisi , on the opposite mainland and on the island of Gavdos . The species grows on sandy conglomerate reefs by the sea.
