Linas Pilibaitis (born April 5, 1985 in Kretinga ) is a Lithuanian football player . He has been playing for VMFD Žalgiris Vilnius in A Lyga , the highest Lithuanian league , since 2014 .

Career

Pilibaitis started his career at FBK Kaunas . In the first season he was able to celebrate the championship title, and the Supercup was also won. In 2003 the championship title could be defended. In 2004 it was awarded to Atlantas Klaipėda by the FBK . The club was able to surprisingly reach third place with the central midfielder. In the 2005 season he was back in the Kaunas squad, this season they were runner-up, but the club was able to win the cup. In 2006 the championship was won again, as well as the Supercup.

In January 2007 he was awarded to the Scottish club Heart of Midlothian . He made his Scottish Premier League debut on March 5, 2007 against Motherwell FC when he played through and received a yellow card. The game in Motherwell was won 2-0. At the end of the season, the Hearts finished fourth. He returned to Kaunas in the summer of 2007 and was able to celebrate his fourth championship title. In 2008 they became runner-up and cup winners. He was also relatively successful in the UEFA Champions League qualifying with Kaunas this season , scoring five goals in six appearances (two goals each in the two games against FC Santa Coloma from Andorra and the decisive goal against Glasgow Rangers which were surprisingly turned off).

In January 2009 he moved to Hungary and signed with Győri ETO FC , with which he reached third place in his first season.

He has played 16 times for Lithuania so far. He made his debut on March 1, 2006 against Albania when he came on for Mantas Savėnas in the 60th minute . The friendly international match in Tirana was won 2-1.
