Åsa Linderborg (born May 20, 1968 in Västerås ) is a Swedish writer, journalist, historian and since 2009 head of the cultural department of the Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet .

Life

Åsa Linderborg grew up in Västerås. She was politically active from an early age and active in today's Vänsterpartiet . She received her PhD in History from Uppsala University in 2001 .

In 2007 she published the autobiographical novel Mig äger ingen (I don't belong to anyone), about her childhood with an alcoholic father. The novel was a great success. The 2013 film of the same name is loosely based on the novel.

Linderborg has been the head of the cultural department of the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet since 2009 .

As the head of culture, Linderborg was involved in publishing allegations against Benny Fredriksson in December 2017 that a later investigation found to be false. Linderborg had to admit that they made a false accusation against Fredriksson. Fredriksson had recently committed suicide. The case sparked widespread debate about journalistic due diligence and the role of Linderborg.
