Lindon Williams
Lindon Williams (born December 27, 1932 in Broaddus , San Augustine County , Texas , † September 24, 1989 ) was an American politician ( Democratic Party ).
Life
Williams grew up on his family's farm. He attended Broaddus High School , South Texas Junior College, and studied at the University of Houston . In 1966 he was elected to the Texas House of Representatives, to which he served from 1967 to 1974. From 1975 to 1985 he was a Senator in the Texas Senate . In 1984 he was elected pro tempore President of the Senate . After his retirement from the Senate, Williams became a Justice of the Peace in Harris County .
Williams was married and had two sons.
