Lingoni is a river on Anjouan , an island in the Comoros in the Indian Ocean .

geography

The river arises near Lingoni from numerous source streams in the mountain slopes of Trindrini and Mont Ntringui at an altitude of approx. 800  m , including on the slopes of Madzirikini and Hasiaka and in the Digo valley , south of the Dzialandzé . While the source streams ( Hamkolo , Haytsori ), especially from the flank of the Trindrini, run a long way to the west, the river winds through its deep valley to the south. In the lower reaches, the valley is heavily populated and used for agriculture. The streams Démedza (l, W) and Mro Bouni (l, W) flow towards it. At Pomoni the river flows into the northern edge of a wide estuary , where the Gnavivi and Mouavou rivers also flow into the ocean nearby.
