Link Island (in Chile Islote Sub-Teniente Ross or Islote Ross ) is an island off the north coast of the Trinity Peninsula at the tip of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 5 km northwest of Halpern Point on the northern edge of the Duroch Islands .
Participants of the 2nd Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1947–1948) mapped and named them after a member of this expedition. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names renamed in 1964 to avoid confusion with Ross Island and James Ross Island . Namesake is David A. Link, a field research assistant in the United States Antarctic Research Program at the University of Wisconsin , who worked in the area between 1960 and 1961.
