Linneus geographic coordinates are 39 ° 53 ′ N , 93 ° 11 ′ W (39.878082, −93.187813). According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has an area of 2.8 km² , without any significant body of water, although there are a few small pools scattered throughout the city. The Missouri State Route 5 leads as Main Street in north-south direction through the place, but most of the settlement area is located east of it. The city limits are right-angled, but irregularly defined in the northeast.
