The Linn County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Missouri . In 2010 , the county had 12,761 people and a population density of 7.9 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Linneus , which was named either after Senator Linn or after the Swedish botanist Carl von Linné .

Linn County was formed in 1837. It was named after Lewis F. Linn , a US Senator from Missouri.
From Laclede came John J. Pershing (1860-1948), Commander-in-Chief of US troops in Europe during World War I.
One place in the county has National Historic Landmark status , the Gen. John J. Pershing Boyhood Home State Historic Site .
Demographic data
As of the 2010 census , Linn County had 12,761 people in 5,062 households. The population density was 7.9 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.53 people lived in 5062 households.
The racial the population was composed of 97.4 percent white, 0.9 percent African American, 0.3 percent Native American, 0.2 percent Asian and other ethnic groups; 1.2 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 1.6 percent of the population.
