The Barry County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Missouri . In 2010 , the county had 35,597 residents and a population density of 17.6 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Cassville , named after Lewis Cass , a governor of the Territory of Michigan.

The county is located almost in the extreme southwest of Missouri, borders Arkansas to the south , is about 50 km from Oklahoma and Kansas to the west , and has an area of 2048 square kilometers, of which 31 square kilometers are water. It borders on the following neighboring counties:

Barry County was formed on January 5, 1835 from parts of Greene County. It was named after William Taylor Barry (1784-1835) from Kentucky , who served as US Postmaster General from 1829 to 1835 .
Demographic data
As of the 2010 census , Barry County had 35,597 people in 14,256 households. The population density was 17.6 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.49 people lived in 14,256 households.
The racial the population was composed of 92.1 percent white, 0.3 percent African American, 0.9 percent Native American, 1.3 percent Asian and other ethnic groups; 1.9 percent were descended from two or more races. Regardless of ethnicity, 7.7 percent of the population was Hispanic or Latino of any race.
