The Andrew County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Missouri . In 2010 , the county had 17,291 residents and a population density of 15.3 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Savannah , named after the city of the same name, Savannah , Georgia .
geography
The county is located almost in the far northwest of Missouri on the east bank of the Missouri River , which forms the border with Kansas . Parallel to the Missouri, the Platte River flows through the county, which flows into the Missouri a few kilometers above Kansas City further south . To the north, the Iowa border is around 50 km away. Andrew County covers an area of 1,131 square kilometers, of which three square kilometers are water. history
Andrew County was formed on January 29, 1841 on the area acquired by the Indians in the Platte Purchase . It was named after Andrew Jackson Davis , a lawyer and politician.
