The Gentry County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Missouri . In 2010 , the county had 6,738 people and a population density of 5.5 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Albany , which was named after the city of the same name, Albany in New York .
geography
The county is located in northwest Missouri, about 30 km to the north from Iowa and about 40 km to the southwest from Nebraska and Kansas . It has an area of 1274 square kilometers, one square kilometer of which is water.
The county is traversed by the Grand River , a left tributary of the Missouri River from Iowa .

history
Gentry County was formed on February 12, 1841 from parts of Clinton County. It was named after Colonel Richard Gentry , who died in the Seminole War in 1837 .
