The Nodaway County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Missouri . In 2010 , the county had 23,370 residents and a population density of 10.3 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Maryville , named after Mary Graham , the wife of a prominent local politician at the time.
geography
The county is located almost in the far northwest of Missouri, borders Iowa to the north and is about 45 km from Nebraska to the west . It has an area of 2273 square kilometers, of which 3 square kilometers are water. The county is traversed by the Nodaway River and the One Hundred and Two Rivers . history
Nodaway County was formed in 1845 on part of the area ceded to the United States by the American Indians in 1836 through the Platte Purchase . The county was named after the Nodaway River .
