The Clark County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Missouri . In 2010 , the county had 7,139 residents and a population density of 5.4 people per square kilometer. The administrative seat ( county seat ) is Kahoka , which was named after the Indian people of the same name.
geography
The county is located in the far northeast of Missouri and borders on Iowa to the north - separated by the Des Moines River . To the east it borders Illinois , from which it is separated by the Mississippi . It has an area of 1326 square kilometers, of which twelve square kilometers are water. Clark County was formed on December 16, 1836 from former parts of Lewis County. It was named after William Clark (1770-1838), the leader of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and later governor of the Missouri Territory (1813-1820).
Demographic data
As of the 2010 census , Clark County had 7,139 people in 2,994 households. The population density was 5.4 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, there were 2.39 people each in the 2,994 households.
The racial the population was composed of 98.2 percent white, 0.3 percent African American, 0.1 percent Native American, 0.3 percent Asian and other ethnic groups; 1.0 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 0.6 percent of the population.
