Randolph County was formed on January 22, 1829 from parts of Chariton County. It was named after John Randolph (1773-1833), a member of the US House of Representatives and US Senator from Virginia .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census , there were 25,414 people in 9,070 households in Randolph County. The population density was 20.3 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.5 people lived in 9070 households.
