Lino Capolicchio (actually Angelo Capolicchio , born August 21, 1943 in Merano ) is an Italian actor .

Life

Capolicchio studied acting at the Accademia d'Arte Drammatica and was active in several fields right after his beginnings in the mid-1960s: he made his debut on stage under Giorgio Strehler at the Piccolo Teatro di Milano and celebrated his first major success alongside Tino Buazzelli and Raf Vallone in view from the bridge ; on the screen he was seen in a 1966 version of the Count of Monte Christo and on the big screen in Franco Zeffirelli's version of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Rebellion from the following year.

He then played in a number of films, the content and forms of which clearly reflect attitudes of the time. With Vittorio de Sicas Der Garten der Finzi Contini he renewed his reputation among critics and audiences as a promising young actor. His following cinema works could not justify this reputation at first; Then Capolicchio turned to the genre film in the mid-1970s, which also started a long-term collaboration with Pupi Avati with the success of the dark thriller La casa dalle finestre che ridono . Since the 1980s, film roles have become rarer; he worked increasingly for television and mainly for the theater.

Twice led Capolicchio at its book itself Director ; however, these works did not leave much of a mark.

Capolicchio was awarded a special David di Donatello in 1971 and the Alabardo d'oro theater prize in 2009.
