Lippincott is a brand strategy and design agency headquartered in New York City . It is part of the Oliver Wyman Group, which also includes Oliver Wyman and NERA Economic Consulting, making it a subsidiary of the Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC). In addition to its headquarters, Lippincott has offices in Boston, London, Paris, Hong Kong and Dubai.

J. Gordon Lippincott opened an industrial design company in New York in 1943, and after Walter P. Margulies joined the company in 1945, it was named Lippincott & Margulies. Initially, the work focused on product design, but packaging design was added within a few years. In the 1950s, the company established itself as the market leader in the field of packaging design and developed the very first corporate identity for the Mead Johnston company. The company's own magazine Sense appears from 1955 . The term and concept of corporate identity was developed by J. Gordon Lippincott in the early 1960s, he wanted to achieve a holistic approach to the choice of product design and name, logo, advertising and brand. This new approach has helped Lippincott & Marguiles win contracts from some of the best-known companies in the United States. For example, they developed or updated the brand appearances of Coca-Cola , Duracell , Hertz , Campbells , American Express and Xerox . In 1969, the company developed one of the world's best-known logos for Pizza Hut . In 1986 the company was bought up by MMC and renamed Lippincott Mercer in line with the other consulting firms. This name was kept until 2007 when Mercer was reorganized. One of the most important campaigns in recent years was the refresh of the McDonald’s brand in 2006.
