Oliver Wyman is an international strategy consultancy. Together with its sister companies Lippincott , Celent and NERA Economic Consulting, it belongs to the Oliver Wyman Group and is a 100% subsidiary of the Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC). As Chief Executive Officer of the Oliver Wyman Group, Scott McDonald has had global leadership responsibility for all industry practices and horizontal areas of expertise at Oliver Wyman as well as for NERA and Lippincott since 2012.

The entire Oliver Wyman Group generated sales of $ 2.05 billion in 2018. Oliver Wyman has over 60 offices with more than 5,000 employees. It is represented in German-speaking countries with offices in Berlin , Frankfurt am Main , Munich , Hamburg , Zurich and Düsseldorf .

history

Oliver Wyman was created in 2007 from the merger of the management consultancies Mercer Oliver Wyman, Mercer Management Consulting and Mercer Delta, which are already part of the MMC group. All three companies were independent when they were founded and were later bought up by MMC. The later Mercer Management Consulting was founded in 1970 as Temple, Barker & Sloane, after several acquisitions and a merger with Strategic Planning Associates the name was changed. In 1993 the company was bought by MMC.

  • The Delta Consulting Group was founded in 1980 and bought out by MMC in 2000.
  • Mercer Oliver Wyman was founded in 1984 as Oliver, Wyman & Company. After several acquisitions, MMC bought it in 2003 and added the Mercer to the name .
