Liriope muscari is a species of the genus Liriope in the asparagus family (Asparagaceae).

Liriope muscari is an evergreen, perennial herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 45 to 100 (rarely from 12) centimeters. It forms rhizome clusters and not runners. The leaves are 8 to 20 (rarely 2 to 35) millimeters wide and nine to eleven-nerved (rarely from five-nerved).
The racemose inflorescence is 8 to 45 (rarely from 2) centimeters long and consists of numerous flowers . Four to eight (rarely three) flowers are found in a bract axil. The tepals are purple-purple and measure 3.5 to 4 × 1.5 to 1.8 millimeters.
The flowering period extends from July to August.
Occurrence
Liriope muscari occurs in South and Central China in forests, bamboo groves and canyons.
