Lisa Heiss

Lisa Heiss (also: Ly Heiss ; * February 2, 1897 in Stuttgart as Elisabeth Katharina Heiss ; † March 15, 1981 in Mainz ) was a German writer .

Life

Lisa Heiss attended the Königin-Katharina-Stift-Gymnasium in Stuttgart. During the First World War she worked for the press office of the German Red Cross . From 1918 to 1921 she studied economics at the Hohenheim Agricultural University and at the University of Heidelberg .

After their marriage in 1923, she moved to the United States with her husband in 1925 . The couple lived in New York until 1932 , where Heiss worked in the purchasing department of a department store and also wrote his first radio plays . After the couple returned to Germany, she worked as a freelancer for the Reichsender Stuttgart ; from 1939 she lived as a freelance writer in Stuttgart. After 1945 Lisa Heiss made numerous trips, a. a. 1964 to India . She has been based in Mainz since the 1970s.

Lisa Heiss was the author of books for children and young people , plays and radio plays. Her narrative works cover a wide variety of current topics, but also include detective and historical novels.
