Lisa Lois (born June 22, 1987 in Wageningen ; actually Lisa Hordijk ) is a Dutch pop singer . She is the winner of the second season of the Dutch edition of the talent show X Factor , which was broadcast on RTL 4 television in spring 2009 .

Career

Hordijk has been musically active since 2003. Before taking part in the TV show, she was the singer of the band Left Lane Lisa for four years , who performed live all over the Netherlands and was particularly well known in the Wageningen region. She also worked in a cover band.

With the win on X Factor on May 9th, 2009 she got a record deal with Sony BMG . The first single came out two days after the finale, a reinterpretation of the song Hallelujah , originally by Leonard Cohen from 1984. The song had been brought to the top of the charts in Great Britain just a few months earlier by the British X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke . Lisa Hordijk's recording was number 1 on the Dutch charts for four weeks and achieved platinum status . On June 12, 2009, an acoustic version of their song was released, produced by Giorgio Tuinfort .

Lisa's debut album, Smoke , was released on November 27, 2009. Some of the songs on the album were written by well-known songwriters such as Pixie Lott and Phil Tornalley . The singer's second album was released in early May under the title Breaking Away . The first single Silhouette was released in January and hit the Dutch charts, but the successor single Crazy hardly (1 week Top 100 # 81) and flopped.
