Lisa Lesco (born January 25, 1915 in Berlin - † December 26, 2003 in Los Angeles , California ; born Lisa Körschner ) was a German actress .

biography

Born Lisa Körschner, Lesco was already on stage at the age of six in Berlin's “New World”. Her talent was already noticed in school performances. She took piano lessons and was trained in singing, acting and ballet. In 1937, after an engagement at the German State Theater in Bucharest, she appeared in the Berlin Theater on Nollendorfplatz, for example in " Opernball " and " Wiener Blut ". She then worked in the Metropol and in the Admiralspalast . There she was on stage more than 800 times with Johannes Heesters in "Wedding Night in Paradise", a piece that also went on tour in Germany.

During the shooting of the film The Heart of a Queen in 1940 with Zarah Leander , she met the actor Willy Birgel , with whom she had a two-year love affair. In 1943 she made the film "A man with principles" with Hans Söhnker , Ursula Herking and Elfie Mayerhofer .

As a pop singer, she sang titles such as “It's spring”, “It's a shame we're falling apart” or “I'm not leaving my Peter alone”.

After 1945 she could also be seen in her hometown in the comedians' cabaret and in the Corso Theater. In the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm Lisa Lesco played 250 times in "Herzkönig" with Rudolf Platte.

After the war she continued to make films such as B. Spy for Germany with Martin Held and Nadja Tiller . In 1961 the actress emigrated to the USA . The German Operetta Theater in New York City had offered her a contract, which she later refused. From then on she appeared in clubs and moderated German-language radio programs.

In the early 1970s, Lesco started a second career as a manager of a pastry chain in Los Angeles.

She found her final resting place on the "green lawn" in Los Angeles.
