Lisa Meyerlist (born September 6, 1914 as Liselotte List in Lauterbach ( Hesse ); † December 2, 2008 in Lucerne ) was a Swiss photographer .

Life

Meyerlist grew up in a wealthy family. She attended art school and initially learned photography self-taught. She got her first camera from her parents when she was twenty. As a young woman she came to Switzerland and married the painter Rolf Meyer . She has two children with him. She lived in Florence with her family for many years . Only after her divorce did she begin to work as a photo reporter as one of the first women in Switzerland.

Meyerlist was the picture chronicler of the International Music Festival in Lucerne. She became known through her recordings of the star conductors. She photographed in Mexico , Guatemala , Asia and Africa . Meyerlist worked and traveled for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung , among others . She portrayed Arturo Toscanini (1938), Herbert von Karajan (1948), Arthur Rubinstein and Federico Fellini .

The Swiss cultural journalist, publicist and sociologist Felix Schenker sifted through Meyerlist's photo archive for several weeks and then put together a photo book with texts by the journalists Pirmin Bossart and Marco Meier. " Lisa Meyerlist - Photo Reporter" was published by Das fifth Tier. He also accompanied the photographer in the film “ Lisa - This Life Gopfridstutz! »By Liliana Piantini, who was shown in May 2017 in the show Sternstunde Kunst on Swiss radio and television .

The photographer's estate is in the Lucerne State Archives .
