Lisa Weber (born 1990 in Vienna ) is an Austrian film director .

Life

Lisa Weber was born in Vienna in 1990. After graduating from high school , Lisa Weber completed a two-semester course in Slavic Studies in Vienna. Then she began to study directing at the Film Academy in Vienna in 2009 .

Her cinematic approach is primarily a documentary and observational one. At the international short film festival Vienna Shorts 2010 she received the Austrian Short Film Award for the film A ray of sunshine comes into the deep-freeze department and softens everything . Her film Die und der von da und dort was awarded as Best Film at the International Youth Media Festival and received an honorable mention at the Vienna Short Short Film Festival. The documentary road movie Sitzfleisch celebrated its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2014 and received an honorable mention at the International Film Festival Karlovy Vary .

In 2016, Lisa Weber was awarded the 1st stage at the If she can see it, she can be it , a script competition for female characters beyond stereotypes.

Your film Now or Tomorrow celebrated its world premiere at the Berlinale in February 2020 in the Panorama Documents section .
