List of Argentine newspapers
The list of Argentine newspapers is divided into four parts: Introduction, Daily Newspapers , Weekly Newspapers , and Monthly Newspapers .
Classification
Over 200 daily newspapers are published in Argentina . Each large city and some medium-sized cities publish their own daily newspapers, while small towns with more than 20,000 inhabitants usually have their own weekly or monthly newspaper.
National newspapers
Most of the national newspapers in Argentina appear in Buenos Aires . The papers with the highest circulation are Clarín and La Nación (daily newspapers) and Perfil (weekly newspaper). Also important are La Prensa and the left-wing alternative newspaper Página / 12 with a detailed cultural section.
A special case is the newspaper El Tribuno , which appears in three different editions in the provinces of Jujuy, Salta and Tucumán; it is the only national newspaper in the interior of the country.
Tabloids
The most important tabloids in Argentina are Diario Popular and Crónica , both from Buenos Aires. Both of them, however, do not come close to Clarín and La Nación in terms of circulation.
Regional and local newspapers
The oldest newspaper still published today is La Capital from Rosario , which is also the regional newspaper with the highest circulation in Argentina after La Voz del Interior ( Córdoba ). Other important regional newspapers are Los Andes ( Mendoza ) and La Gaceta ( San Miguel de Tucumán ).
Free newspapers
More recently, a number of newspapers have gained prominence in major cities and they are distributed free of charge, especially on buses and trains. La Razón , a former traditional subscription newspaper , is distributed in the suburban trains of Buenos Aires , El Diario del Bolsillo in the Buenos Aires metro and in the buses and public institutions of Cordoba.
Magazines and weeklies
Argentina also has a large number of magazines and weekly newspapers. The most famous news magazines are Noticias and Veintitres . Gente and Caras are the high- circulation magazines . There is also a German-language weekly newspaper, the Argentinische Tageblatt .
