The list of castles and palaces in Eschweiler is a list of all castles , moated castles , palaces and manor houses in what is now the area of the city of Eschweiler in the Aachen city region . Ornamental and replicas that were never used as residential buildings or for defense are not listed .

House Bongart
former moated castle, eponymous ancestral seat of the Lords of the Bongart , first mentioned in 1252 with Gerardus de Pomerio (Pomarium = tree garden, "Bongart"); came before 1400, together with Bovenberg Castle (see below), through Margarete von dem Bongart to her husband Heinrich von Hüchelhoven.
Wall-trench fortification preserved with small remains of the wall.
Bovenberg Castle
Moated castle, built before 1342 by Wilhelm Bove von der Heyden, son of Arnold von dem Bongart.
Eschweiler Castle
Seat of the Lords of Eschweiler, reconstruction in 1845 and then used as a hospital ( St. Antonius Hospital )
