    Awarded on March 25, 1933. Although all honorary citizenships granted to war criminals were revoked by a directive of the Allied Control Council of October 12, 1946, Adolf Hitler was neither charged nor convicted as a war criminal for his suicide before the end of the war. The revocation of his honorary citizenship was only confirmed in 2008 by the Berchtesgaden municipal council.

    For his services in the course of the territorial reform. Thanks to him, the merging of the communities of Berchtesgaden and Maria Gern went harmoniously.
