- Awarded on March 25, 1933. Although all honorary citizenships granted to war criminals were revoked by a directive of the Allied Control Council of October 12, 1946, Adolf Hitler was neither charged nor convicted as a war criminal for his suicide before the end of the war. The revocation of his honorary citizenship was only confirmed in 2008 by the Berchtesgaden municipal council.

- For his services in the course of the territorial reform. Thanks to him, the merging of the communities of Berchtesgaden and Maria Gern went harmoniously.
