Adalbert Waagen (born March 30, 1833 in Munich , † April 15, 1898 in Berchtesgaden ) was a German painter .

Waagen was the son of the artist Carl Waagen and a grandson of the history and landscape painter Friedrich Ludwig Heinrich Waagen. Since 1855 he was a student of Albert Zimmermann in Munich , whom he also followed to Milan. In 1859 he returned to Munich from there. In 1868 he set up a studio in Berchtesgaden and took up residence there. The Prince Regent Luitpold awarded him the honorary title of royal professor in 1891.

His focus was on the representation of mountains and landscapes. His ideal-typical views of Albert Zimmermann go back to Joseph Anton Koch .

Some of his works are shown in the Martin von Wagner Museum at the University of Würzburg and in the Munich City Museum.
