[1] Both units of the class had been shut down since 1949/50 and were in reserve. They were not reactivated until they were finally deleted in 1961 or 1970.

CB - Cruiser Big (large cruiser, similar to a battle cruiser )
CAG - Guided Missile Heavy Cruiser (Heavy missile cruiser ) to 1975
CLG - Guided Missile Light Cruiser (Light Guided Missile Cruiser ) until 1975
