Old Eschborn mill on Westerbach; the existence of a mill at this point was documented in 1405, a new building in 1692.

Originally a courtyard with field cultivation, as the water capacity of the Westerbach was not sufficient for an exclusive mill operation. The large, half-timbered gatehouse from the second half of the 18th century, which closes the courtyard from the street, as well as the broad residential building with a half-hipped roof. Frame construction in simple bracing on rubble stone base, probably built with the inclusion of the mill construction from 1692; the commercial buildings destroyed in the Second World War.

Characteristic Franconian rider
Characteristic Franconian rider Eschenplatz 1 and 3
location
Characteristic Franconian courtyard, whose gable-independent house fits into the series of similar buildings, while the barn in the courtyard spatially closes the church square. The two-storey residential building with a crooked hip (former “Zur Krone” inn) shows rich, very regular visible framework from around 1700 with the typical emphasis on the upper floor front. On the ground floor there are floor-high struts tapped into the frame, on the gable of the upper storey there are male figures with wooden head angles, wide-spreading struts and neck bolts. The barn in simple, constructive half-timbering with lively bracing, inscribed with dated 1715. The severely disturbed, simultaneous half-timbering of the neighboring house at Oberortstrasse 32 (Menje) was integrated into the modern steel frame construction of the local museum as a “house within a house”. around 1715 45550

Complete facility in Eschborn Core area of the old town
location
Village: 9, parcel: 28/1, 28/2
The entire Eschborn complex comprises the core area of the old town along the Westerbach, from Oberortstraße 19 to Unterortstraße 3/22, Eschenplatz 1 and 3, Neugasse 1, the buildings at Hauptstraße 7 to 18 with the church in the center.

The whole complex gets its special character from the open course of the upper Westerbach, along the Oberortstraße with the double-sided row of gable-independent houses of former Central German court riding. The structures at Oberortstrasse 18, 23 and 27, which were probably built in a train around 1749 (inscription house 27), show great structural similarities. The simple figurations in the ground and rear parts of the upper floors are typical, while the upper floor gable side has ornamental frameworks with man figures - mostly with widely spread struts and counter struts. The modern steel frame building of the museum (Oberortstrasse 32) represents a successful, true-to-scale, new urban development accent, inside which the historical half-timbered construction of the previous building is presented as a museum. On the other hand, the multi-storey residential buildings in the rear areas of the property on Unterortstrasse must be assessed as an impairment of the ensemble.

Villa Luce
Villa Luce Hauptstraße 114, corridor
location
: 42, parcel: 1 / 1.1 / 2
Formerly located opposite the factory hall of the iron foundry G. Schiele & Co, the associated manufacturer's villa. Probably built soon after the Schiele company moved from Frankfurt to Eschborn in 1908, the villa is one of the last examples of the first German fan factory on site (see Hauptstrasse 81-85). The workshop has been demolished in recent years and the villa is now used as a children's home.

Built as a country house in the style of the local architecture, the first thing that catches the eye on the street side of the two-storey, plastered building is the oversized, stepped, semicircular closed window. It illuminates the hall with the staircase, which is still original. Rustic plinth, wooden entrance porch, various window shapes in sandstone walls, a dwelling and a mansard roof are important features of the country house style of this villa. The building opens to the garden side with a semicircular bay window, loggia and wooden veranda. From here, the residents once had a view of a spacious park, which is still recognizable today in essential parts such as the tree population and the modulation of the terrain. To the west of the villa is an avenue of trees, immediately behind it is a high viewing hill, which presumably had a pavilion or resting place. The park ends on its north side in a meadow orchard. The largely preserved, low, concave enclosure wall also belongs to it. For artistic and historical reasons, the object is designated as a cultural monument.

Catholic Church of St. Nicholas Kirchgasse 4
Location
hall: 1, parcel: 9/1
The Catholic Church of St. Nicholas, built in 1951 by the architects Carl Rummel and Heinrich Horvatin in place of a late Gothic predecessor, is a typical, purist building from the early 1950s.

A simple, plastered rectangular building with a flat gable roof and a raised tower. The conception of the almost north-south facing church as a multi-storey church with a community room in the basement, which is on a stepped floor, is interesting; further youth rooms in the tower. Inside there is a flat-roofed hall, yoke structure with supporting belts, small west aisle. Well-proportioned square and rectangular windows with abstract glass windows in broken shades based on designs by Odo Tattenpach , Braunschweig, in the succession of the Dutch de Stijl movement. From the previous building, pointed arch reveals are integrated into the north wall of the gallery, as well as a sandstone lintel with two coats of arms and dating 1581; The colored figures of Saints Nikolaus and Valentin by Joh. V. Tüchert and the figure of Mary with child by Joh. J. Junker, mid-18th century. In front of the church: Pietà, stone relief, from 1957.

Two-story small farmhouse, plastered half-timbering from the 17th / 18th centuries Century, slated gable side to the street.
