List of multiples by Wolf Vostell

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German artist Wolf Vostell (1932–1998) produced multiples from 1963 to 1998 .

background

For Wolf Vostell, the multiple was a strategy for documenting happenings and presenting ideas and projects. In his first multiple Do it yourself from 1963, Wolf Vostell asked the viewer to create works of art himself by adding a test tube with tetrachloride ( carbon tetrachloride ) to the multiple , which can be used to make smudges . The participation of the viewer and the public has been an outstanding element at Wolf Vostell since 1958.
