Elections in Sierra Leone 2002

The 2002 elections in Sierra Leone took place on May 14, 2002. It was the first free elections in Sierra Leone after the end of the civil war .

Incumbent Ahmed Tejan Kabbah of the Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP) won the presidential election with 70.1 percent of the vote. In the parliamentary elections, the SLPP won 83 of the 124 seats and thus an absolute majority .
