Parliamentary election in Sierra Leone 1977
The parliamentary elections in Sierra Leone in 1977 took place on May 6, 1977 in Sierra Leone . They were held unscheduled after Parliament had previously been dissolved on April 4, 1977.
Electoral system
There was a choice of 85 members in the unicameral parliament . One person was elected with a simple majority in each of the 85 constituencies . All Sierra Leoneans over the age of 21 who had registered as voters were eligible to vote . The mentally ill and imprisoned were excluded .
