This is a list of the number one hits in Hungary in 1993 . It is based on the Top 40 album, DVD és válogatáslemez-lista of the Magyar Hanglemezkiadók Szövetsége (Mahasz), the Hungarian representative of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry .
The sampler, half of which consists of songs by the lead actress Whitney Houston , was not only the first original soundtrack at number one on the charts since it was charted in 1990, but also the first non-Hungarian album at all.
The short-lived band around Linda Perry is particularly remembered with the hit What's Up? , but especially on the European continent the album was just as successful.
Haddaway achieved high rankings in many countries with his debut, but was particularly successful with number one in Hungary. Like all international artists who were at the top this year, he was unable to repeat this success.
