The church is a Gothic building with a pointed arched profiled west portal, Christophorus fresco on the south wall, and frescoes from around 1500 in the choir. The furnishings include the main altar, side altars and pulpit (both baroque, from 1723) as well as a Gothic lecture cross and a remarkable Gothic figure of St. Nicholas.

The former nursing home was owned by the Counts of Porcia from 1662 to 1848 and was the seat of the keepers of the Afritz estate. The two-storey renaissance building with a former continuous transverse corridor on both storeys has a crooked roof with a rafter roof truss covered with alpine tiles and cantilevered, open gable walls with ornate corridor parapets. The facades from 1785 were redesigned in the 19th century; the interior underwent major changes after 1956.

On the street side there is a coupled central window above the arched portal . Next to it on the left is the coat of arms of Prince Franz Seraphim von Porcia, on the right the coat of arms of his wife, Baroness von Jöchlingen and on the right a mural depicting the battle of Archangel Michael with Lucifer . With the exception of one room in the south corner, the basement rooms and the ground floor are vaulted with a stitch cap barrel.
