The Leutschach parish church in its current form was built in 1910/1911. Before that, a smaller baroque church stood in its place, which was in great need of renovation. Since the church was too small for the population at that time, it was decided to tear down the old church and build the new one over it. The church tower was also raised by one floor and given a new roof and top.
