Today's castle was rebuilt by Hans Stübich and his son Georg Gabriel around 1580–1620, including a fortification from the early 16th century, today's pillar hall in the west tower. After a fire in 1631 the castle was renovated. In the courtyard of the mighty two-wing building, Renaissance column arcades extend over four floors. Baroque window baskets. The outside staircase and the bay tower in the east wing date from the 2nd half of the 18th century.

Karl Ludwig von Bruck acquired the castle in 1872 , since 2007 the castle has been owned by a GmbH and after a renovation is available as a wedding and event location.
