The pilgrimage began in 1677 with a stone figure of Mary and Child next to a spring in the forest. The pilgrimage chapel was built in 1720. There is a small confessional chapel next to the chapel.

The late baroque building from the 2nd half of the 18th century is in an elevated position at the northern end of the village. A comparatively low west tower adjoins the semicircular choir and the high nave. The high altar and pulpit date from the construction period.
