Burgvogtei - People's House
In 1686 the margraves bought the former courtyard of the Wettingen monastery , the Burgvogtei house, in Kleinbasler Rebgasse . After the margravial offices housed there needed a safe place to stay due to the destruction of Rötteln Castle in 1678 , the Oberamt and the Burgvogtei with the court cooperage were housed here until 1697. The building remained in the possession of the margraves until 1798.
